For the last 20 years the shows have been organized by Andy & Di McInnes. They have decided this year that it’s time to retire and have carefully chosen their successors to ensure the continuing success of the shows.
Shows like these continually need new ideas to take them forward and whilst Andy & Di still have the enthusiasm, they no longer have the energy required. Both are really excited with the choice of people who are taking the shows over.
Art in Clay Hatfield will be owned and run by Valentine Clays, a UK based clay manufacturing company with an international reputation. Hannah Ault will lead the team in this new venture for Valentines. Hannah comes with a wealth of knowledge, marketing and PR experience. Andy will continue to select for Hatfield for the next couple of years.
Art in Clay Farnham will be owned and run by Anna and Richard Miller. Richard has been one of our stalwart helpers since he was at University studying ceramics. He graduated in 2003 and purchased Froyle Tiles in 2006, which continues to be his main focus alongside making his own one-off pieces. Anna is fresh to Art in Clay, was at college with Richard, but studied Fine Art not ceramics. Anna comes with a working knowledge and background in PR and marketing.
Andy and Di will continue to support Valentines, Anna & Richard and will be on-hand for any help and advice needed both in the preparation for the shows and on the weekend of the show.
The aim of Art in Clay remains the same; to bring a wide range of ceramics and pottery to a new audience as well as the knowing collectors. It is amazing what can be made from clay. There are pots to use in the kitchen and garden, exhibited alongside amazing sculptures and artwork that is equally at home in a top London gallery. It's a special experience to be able to buy from the artist who has made the work; to find out about their passions and influences and really discover how your pot came into being.
We hope you will visit the shows and take away your own unique piece of Art in Clay.
