I make wood fired domestic ware and fire it at the Kigbeare Kiln in Devon. Lined with a white ash glaze, the outside is left bare to show the effects of the fly ash deposited during the firing and the patterns created by strategic packing of the pots in the kiln.
Alongside my standard ware, I have been researching Ardennes slate as a glaze material for years: the results are a blue celadon type glaze and a tenmoku for which I have made a limited range of bowls and coffee cups.
