I make wheel-thrown and press-moulded tableware from high-firing clays. I work with simple forms which provide the blank canvas for my patterns. Decoration techniques all involve carving through or scraping back, with sgraffitto and inlay being my favourites. Inspiration has various sources: a Fulham Pottery vase decorated with fish; the folk pottery of my motherland, Hungary; the country’s hilly landscape silhouettes or the meadow grasses and flowers gently waving in the wind.
