Joan & Jack Hardie
In 2014, having made pots by more traditional methods for over 40 years, we decided to experiment with 3D printing clay and built a “clay printer”, combining art, craft and technology in a new way. In the last 5 years we have explored new territory, making forms that cannot be made by other methods. Our pots start with an idea inspired by a natural form which we then develop as a digital design that will work in soft wet clay. New approaches to colour and firing make the pieces come alive.
