Pippa Hill
Stoneware animals, hand built or press moulded, using several different types of Valentines stoneware clays, coloured with slips, oxides and glazes, fired to 1260⁰C in a gas kiln. I mainly make British Wildlife and domestic animals, drawing on my past experiences with them, tacking up my pony, milking cows, skinning rabbits, remembering the feel and shape of them. Recently I have been making more exotic creatures, particularly endangered species. I also make a few colourful humorous pieces.
