John Masterton
I throw and hand build my work, mostly in porcelain, and glaze with single and multiple layers of modern versions of traditional oriental glazes. I fire with a gas kiln, using the interaction of the flames and the glazes to achieve variations in finish. Most of my work is based around function, and meant to be touched and used, but I am starting to explore some more abstract forms that respond well to the glazes.
