Mitch Pilkington
Hand-built sculptural ceramics inspired by the natural forms of my coastal finds, both where I live in North Devon and the Caribbean. I use highly grogged stoneware and porcelain clays with surface treatments of slips and oxides to fully enhance the sculptural qualities of the clay. I hand-build with coils and slabs. My work has a haptic quality invoking a sense of calm, serenity and connection.
