Gilly Whittington
I work in porcelain which is fired in a gas kiln in reduction. I give great deal of thought to form and colour, and my vases, platters and bottles are inspired by the abstract expressionist painters. The work is mainly wheel thrown and sometimes altered, and is glazed in layers with ash glazes coloured by oxides. I also make a range of plain glazed domestic ware in clean contemporary lines.
